Murecker Schiffsmühle

The only functioning and floating mill in Central Europe is located near the Slovenian border. All machines in the mill, which is built like a houseboat, are on a floating platform and are powered by the the water of the lower Mur. The floating mill, built in 1997 based on the original model, became Mureck's second landmark. The "Mühlenhof" restaurant provides delicacies that can be enjoyed on the large terrace. The so-called "Sterzhütte" offers space for events and seminars. A guided tour gives you a complete insight into how the floating mill works. In the own shop you can buy both homemade products and other regional specialties.
