Schloss Stubenberg

Margaritha und Frank Schleicher
The Stubenberg Castle dates back to the 13th century and was expanded into a castle on the old foundations of the “Meierhof” in the 16th century.

From 1925 to 1979 the St. Joseph's convent of the Franciscan nuns was set up in Stubenberg Castle.

It was not until 1980 that the castle came into private ownership and since 1981 the romantic arcaded courtyard and the ballroom have been available for cultural events.

Since 2001 there has also been a picturesque hotel in the castle. After we are increasingly looking for ways to retreat from the hectic everyday life, the hotel in Stubenberg castle is a true oasis.

In the “Stubenberger Schloss-Tavern” - a cozy “Schloss-Stüberl” you can taste and enjoy excellent wines and regional specialties.

Highlights at Stubenberg Castle:
• Fireplace lounge and ballroom for special occasions such as concerts, receptions, birthday parties, civil weddings
• Table music such as “Minnesang”, Renaissance music or Styrian folk music
• Culture in the castle - concerts, musical get-togethers and exhibitions in the summer months
• Swimming biotope in the garden
